Katie & Denis, Tyn Dwr Hall Wedding
Tyn Dwr Hall is a beautifully restored house private house in Llangollen, set in woodland and beautiful gardens. We work there quite a lot and it is always a treat. We are delighted to share Katie and Denis’ wedding who got married last August, a whole year ago. Happy Anniversary! I’ve been meaning to post his for a while, so here you are, some wedding cheer, including alpacas!
THE STYLING
The key colour for the flowers was pink. Bright pink, dusty pink, pale pink and blush pink, I could go on – are there more shades? Add into the mix pops of coral and ivory too for a little contrast. Katie did not want the flowers to be rustic, but rather elegant with a more relaxed take so we focused on bigger blooms.
In the planning stages it is always helpful to share with your florist copies of the invites or save the dates and the wedding and bridesmaids dresses. All these details help your florist (me in this case) understand the overall look and feel you are after. Katie’s favourite flowers are hydrangeas and we used different varieties throughout the displays, including some from the garden. Roses also played a big part and their scent really filled the rooms. Scent is so important in flowers, and I always like to include scented flowers or foliage in arrangements. To me, it reminds people that they are real. Although, the wedding was early August we were still able to source a few bunches of peonies, and coral charm – scream summer.
MOCK UP’S
Katie visited me at home in Criccieth for our final consultation. To help Katie visualise how the table would look, we provided a mock up centrepiece so she was able to see overall, how the centrepiece would look and were able think more about tables, linens and candles too. Ted the dog, was also very happy to meet Katie and spent most of the meeting snuggled next to her on the sofa while I rambled on about flowers.
So enjoy…. and massive thanks to M and G Wedding Photography for these photographs.
